Collective I/O Techniques for Chip Multiprocessor Clusters

1 June, 2016

I/O operations are an important limiting factor in order to achieve high performance in Chip Multiprocessor (CMP) clusters. As far as we know, there are no I/O techniques specially tuned for CMP clusters. The main purpose of our research is to develop I/O techniques for these kind of architectures. We propose several strategies that allow us to reduce both the number of I/O requests and the transferred data volume among processes. This way, an improved overall system performance in CMP clusters is achieved.
