eID4Spain project started

eID4Spain – Connecting Regional and Local Administrations to Spanish eIDAS node

The Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) is part of the eID4Spain electronic identification project. We are members of a consortium coordinated by the University of Valencia, with the participation of the Carlos III University of Madrid, and LMT Group, as well as other Spanish public institutions. During the past 2018, we have started working on the eID4Spain project, co-financed by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) of the European Commission.

The project was approved under the CEF Telecom program, in the Electronic Identification category, and is coordinated by the University of Valencia. It also has the participation of the Carlos III University of Madrid, and LMT Group, and other Spanish public institutions. The consortium will work through various activities and its final objective is the connection of our electronic identification platform to the Spanish eIDAS node, to recognize the eID of citizens of other countries of the European Union. Likewise, platforms with the latest version of Cl@ve will be updated to improve the service offered to Spanish citizens and residents.

This action will allow us to recognize electronic identifications of citizens and institutions of other Member States, as well as offer a service aligned with the regulations of the European Union. This project is co-financed by INEA, the Innovation and Network Executive Agency of the European Commission, which grants funds to the project through its CEF Telecom program.
