eID4Spain – Connecting Regional and Local Administrations to Spanish eIDAS node
On March 26, 2019, the initial meeting of the CEF TELECOM eID4Spain project – Connecting Regional and Local Administrations to Spanish eIDAS Node – (INEA / CEF / ICT / A2018 / 1633095), co-financed by INEA, European Union within the CEF program took place (Connecting Europe Facility). The meeting was at the University of Valencia, coordinator of the project, at the headquarters of the Institute of Robotics and Information Technology and Communications, IRTIC, where the LISITT research group is responsible for coordinating the project.
The meeting was attended by members of all participating entities, the Leading Management Technology S.L., the Carlos III University of Madrid, the Junta de Extremadura, the Diputación de Ciudad Real, the Diputación de Valencia, the company Guadaltel, S.A. and the Rivas Vaciamadrid City Council.
During the morning, aspects of the consortium and project review were discussed: the participants and the work plan, the eIDAS regulation and also technical and administrative issues of the project leaving the afternoon for practical topics on cl @ ve, deadlines, final reports and acquired commitments.
The objective of the Action is to connect the public electronic services provided by 4 Spanish local and regional administrations (Junta de Extremadura, Diputación de Ciudad Real, Diputación de Valencia and Ayuntamiento de Rivas Vaciamadrid) to the Spanish eIDAS node through CL @ VE 2.0 to : enable cross-border authentication in line with the eIDAS Regulation.
At the end of the action, these electronic services offered by these 4 Spanish authorities will be available in the production environment for cross-border authentication (through eIDAS). In addition, all participants will disseminate the Action by presenting the results achieved in their e-government portals to other national and European public entities. The project is co-financed by the European Commission through its call to electronic billing for 2018 CEF Telecom Call – eIdentification & eSignature (CEF-TC-2018-1).
