------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CALL FOR PAPERS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Third International Workshop on Scalable Distributed and Multi/Many-core Applications and Systems (SDMAS'09) within The 2009 International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Processing Techniques and Applications (PDPTA'09) Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. 13-16 July 2009. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.arcos.inf.uc3m.es/~jdaniel/sdmas09 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTEXT The improvement of a single processor performance seems to have reached its limits. As a solution the emergence of multi-core and many-core processors can give a better performance and reduce problems like power comsumption or heat dissipation. While multiprocessing has been succesfully applied to scientific computing and server side computing it remains a challenge at the desktop and mobile devices. Different kinds of distributed computing systems have emerged during the last years ranging from clusters and web to the Grid and the Cloud. In all those systems scalability is an important issue. Most of them may improve their scalability by taking advantage of multi/many core nodes. GOAL The Third International Workshop on Scalable Distributed and Multi/Many-core Applications and Systems aims to be a forum where researchers and practitioners address the challenges in the design, development and evaluation of scalable computing system. The wokshop will focus specially in the scalability of multi/many-core systems, the impact of that technology on mainstream distributed computing and the common patters between both technologies.
