José Daniel García Sánchez

Dr. J. Daniel García got the Computer Science degree from Madrid Politechnic University in 2001, the Advanced Studies Diploma in Computer Science from University Carlos III of Madrid in 2003 and the Ph.D. in Computer Science from University Carlos III of Madrid in 2005.

Since 2006 he is an Associate Professor at Computer Science Department (Computer Architecture Group) at University Carlos III of Madrid, where he previously held the position of Assistant Professor. Formerly he was a Lecturer at the Computer Science Faculty in Pontifical Salamanca University (Madrid campus).

Since 1993 until joining University he has worked as a Systems Engineer and Software Engineer in projects for several companies like AITEMIN, Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, TOOL, Siemens, DMR Consulting, Telefónica Móviles and British Telecom.

From his position as a researcher at Univeristy Carlos III of Madrid, he has worked in several research projects both publicly founded and for companies (such as EADS).

His current research interests include high performance computing, new programming models and the C++ programming language.

He is a member of the ACM and the IEEE Computer Society.

Since september 2008 he is a member of the ISO C++ Standards Committee.
